📢 PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT: FRAMED

Coming in 2027

I am thrilled to finally share the cover and premise for my upcoming techno-thriller, FRAMED by my Digital Doppelganger.

Framed by my Digital Doppelganger by Kimberly Theo book cover and text over a grey background.

This project has been a deep dive into the terrifying intersection of identity and technology. When Hattie is arrested for a high-level eSports heist she didn’t commit, the only way out is through a 2,300-mile road trip fueled by caffeine, a screaming infant, and three “best friends” who can barely stand to be in the same car.

The Twist? The person who stole Hattie’s life didn’t just hack her accounts—they hacked her bloodline. While Hattie rots in a cell, a tech-genius shadow is playing a game of high-stakes fraud, and the connection between them is closer than Hattie ever imagined.

🗝️ The Trope Checklist:

  • ⚖️ The Wrongly Accused: 20 years for a crime she can’t explain.
  • 🚗 Forced Proximity: One car. Three days, two enemies, 1 6-month-old child, and a cello.
  • 💻 Digital Doppelganger: A pixel-perfect clone with a genius IQ.
  • 🤫 Family Secret: The ultimate “biological” glitch.
  • 🌺 Opposites Attract: A high-strung lawyer vs. a Hawaiian-shirt-wearing defender.

🎨 Design Notes

Framed by my Digital Doppelganger novel by Kimberly Theo. Features a prison cell with a brick wall and a window. The title word Framed is in all caps in a red stencil font. "By my" is in lowercase white. Below that is a window which resembles a barcode. Digital is in white with a red/cyan glitch effect, in all caps in a techno font. One of the horizontal cell bars acts as a strikethrough over the work Doppelganger. The tagline, "Three Friends. One Crime. Zero paper trail." is below the title. Finally, the author's name Kimberly Theo is in cyan blue, all caps, tall letters at the bottom.

The cover features a custom “barcode window” design, symbolizing the convergence of physical incarceration and digital data. Look closely at the layers—the bars are closer than they appear.
